Armed IPOB Militants invade political meeting in Enugu, says no election on Biafra
Some gunmen have attacked a gathering of politicians in Enugu West abruptly bringing it to an end and warning those involved that there will be no election in “Biafra land”.
In a video that has gone viral, the gunmen were seen beating the participants with guns, stoning some and shooting sporadically into the air
The unlucky few who could not escape were molested, assaulted with their motor bikes popularly called Okada roughly Malhandled.
The gunmen suspected to belong to the Eastern Security Network, the armed wing of the proscribed group; the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra accused their victims of trying to “bring back Fulani” into Enugu West.
The attack presents a new low for the proscribed group as many south easterners have condemned their tactics following a biting sit-at-home order which has brought economic activities in the South East to a standstill and was recently condemned by lawmakers and political elite in the region
The leader of the proscribed group Nnamdi Kanu remains in detention and is facing several counts of treason by the Federal Government following his kidnap from Kenya by Nigeria”s security and intelligence agencies after he had jumped bail in 2019
